A mum-of-four who is struggling to feed her family on a £60 weekly food budget has called for free school meals every school child to help families cope with the cost of living crisis.
Tasha Jones, who took part in Save the Children’s ‘ Mums on a Mission ’ campaign to improve childcare for working mums in the UK, said free school meals are vital for her family due to rocketing prices of energy and petrol.
The full-time mum has a food budget of just £60 a week for herself, her partner and her four children, aged two to 14, and says a hot meal at school for the eldest three means that they can have a lighter evening meal - which saves on energy costs.
