A large family has been left completed devastated after their newly renovated home went up in flames the day before they were due to move. Hester and Nathan Hadfield, who have eight children, were living in a smaller home, where six of them were sleeping in the same room.
The family were able to get a bigger council home with more room for their family. They spent weeks renovating the four-bedroom property but when they were at a concert on July 5 it went up in flames.
Mum Hester, whose children are aged between one and 17, said she has been left heartbroken. She told the Manchester Evening News: “We spent eight weeks - day and night - doing up the house and making it right for us. We had literally just left the property after putting on the kid’s bedding when we got a phone call to say the fire brigade were at our house.
