A mum -of-eight who has been described as 'glamorous and outgoing' has died at the age of 47, having spent her last years inside her house to stop people staring at her.
Nicola Kilby could hardly bring herself to look at her face in the mirror, and wouldn't be photographed as she was so self-conscious because her rare illness had altered her appearance.
For five years she battled inflammatory blood vessel disease, but the condition, known as Wegener's Granulomatosis (GPA) had already started to alter her appearance before she was diagnosed, reports Birmingham Live.
