Mum of Brit dad stabbed during Portugal stag do refuses to leave son's bedside

The mum of British dad-of-four left in a coma after being stabbed in Portugal while on a stag do is refusing to leave his bedside.

Joel Collins, from Troedyrhiw, Wales, was on his way home after getting separated from pals on a night out in the coastal city of Albufeira in the southern Algarve.

The 35-year-old's family believe he was stabbed in a suspected mugging.

The dad-of-four has since undergone five separate operations and is in intensive care after being put in an induced coma.

Joel's mum Sue Bridges has admitted she's been at her son's bedside since he was taken to hospital - after he was found unconscious in the street by a passer-by with four deep wounds in his abdomen.
