Mum 'moons' in school sports day parents' race disaster

It’s every parent’s worst nightmare on school sports day - a disaster in the parents’ race. Mum Katie Hannaford managed to take it one step further by faceplanting mid race - and exposing her underwear to all the children and parents (and teachers).

She managed to moon at all the onlookers - and said she only took part because her eight year old daughter begged her to.

Katie Hannaford from Basildon, Essex, wasn’t injured - but her pride might need a bit of tlc. Footage shows the mum, lining up in the third lane from the left. The race then starts and Katie, who is in a blue dress, drops to the back - before falling to the floor.

Unfortunately, her dress comes up over her head and reveals her underwear - for all the crowd to see. She said: “I’m not sporty at all, but [my daughter] kept begging me. In the end I agreed to the race - I knew I’d come last.”

The mum added: “I just tripped over my own feet - I think my body was just moving too fast for my legs!” She continued: “I’m so clumsy, I’m always falling over.”

Katie, seeing the funny side, continued: “I was humiliated at the time, but it is what it is! I flashed my underwear, which is obviously embarrassing, but you just have to own it.” And she has no regrets. She added: “Looking back, it’s hilarious - definitely the funniest thing I’ve ever done in my life!”
