Mum makes daughter's room look 'gorgeous' with Facebook marketplace and Wilko bargains

Redecorating a room can be seriously expensive, and when it's for a child, who may change their taste and the things they like in a few years, or even months, it seems silly to spend a lot of money on it.

One thrifty mum has been praised, however, for finding a bed on Facebook marketplace for just £40, and upcycling it to make it more in-keeping with her daughter's aesthetic - giving it a glow-up if you like.

Chloe, who posts under username @c33lo33, was really happy with the finished product, captioning the video: Turned out so cute." And many mums agreed.

In the video, a very brightly coloured bed could be seen, but Chloe didn't think that was her daughter's style, so she got to work at making it look as good as new, in a style her daughter would adore.

She began by peeling off the heart-shaped stickers from the original frame and cleaned it with Wilko ready to use sugar soap, which costs £4.25.

Chloe then showed the camera the paints she was going to use - one white and one pink. Rust-oleum chalky finish can be purchased from Dunelm for £12 and Wilko paint can be nabbed for just a tenner. She then got to work by painting the bedframe.

The proud mum then showed off the finished product, and people were quick to point out that it looked 'gorgeous'.

Chloe had also put on some adorable unicorn, rainbow, and castle-print bedding, and laid her trusty teddy bears out on the bed.

"It looks great!", one TikToker gushed.

Another mum praised her colour choices, after some questioned why she didn't just refresh the original shades, commenting: "The muted and pastel colors in the room is way better then overstimulating your child it's cute and your still stimulating her. You're doing great!"

"Put fairy lights on the roof to top it off", someone recommended.

"It looks perfect", a mum wrote.
