Mum jokes cat is 'trying to kill' her baby after catching his evil scowl

A first-time mum has left people online in stitches after sharing a viral video of her cat staring at her newborn baby with a sinister look on his face, as though plotting a master plan to take out the tot.

Grace Robinson, 19, welcomed her daughter Emilia Bea Robinson into the world last month, and decided to share a photo montage of the little one on social media.

But the video was hiding something spooky lurking in the background of every picture included in the slideshow - Grace's 12-year-old cat, Harvey, who can be seen sporting an evil scowl as he realises he now has to share the attention around the house with the new arrival.

Alongside the video - which was posted on TikTok and has over 700,000 views and 145,000 likes - Grace wrote: "POV: your cat is trying to kill your baby."

Commenters on the video were left in stitches over the hilarious clip, with many saying they were reduced to "tears" from having laughed too much.

Harvey's scowl was first noticed by Grace's mum, Emma, whilst she was trying to take a photo of her adorable new granddaughter, and he was then spotted lurking in the corners of every photo the family have tried to take since.

Grace said: "Harvey was just staring at my mum, which she found funny so she took the photo. The whole family couldn't stop laughing and from then on, anytime he was in the background (which was quite often) and was staring like usual, we would take a picture and share it in the family group chat.

"The last picture in the video is my favourite because I actually didn't notice him in the background until after the picture was taken. My initial reaction was just pure laughter.

"Harvey is such a funny cat, he does so many things that are just bizarre. I constantly find myself laughing at the things he does so this was just another one of them occasions."

And although it may look as though Harvey is keen on ridding the world of little Emilia, Grace has insisted the cat would never "intentionally hurt" anyone - and he's actually very friendly toward his new friend.

She added: "I can honestly say I'm not worried at all about my cat's relationship with my daughter. Harvey is the softest most friendly cat ever, he wouldn’t intentionally hurt or intimidate anyone he just wants fuss and cuddles!

"Away from the camera, Harvey is just fine with Emilia; to be honest if anything he’s not really bothered by her. So there is absolutely no concern at all, and if there was I obviously wouldn't post a TikTok like that.

"I'm just glad that the video has made people smile and am very overwhelmed with the lovely comments about both Harvey and Emilia!"
