A mum says she was left in tears after all the family's possessions were dumped at the side of the road then taken away by the council and destroyed at a landfill site. As well as losing all their children's toys, important documents, pictures and videos the family has lost around £30,000 of property,
Dominique Herbst, and husband Knut with their two children packed everything they own into a trailer and moved from Germany to Merseyside - only to have the trailer disconnected from the campervan and stolen four days later. The family was tipped off about the location of their things on Facebook, but when they got to the road it was empty.
Liverpool City Council told them their things had been taken away as they had been fly-tipped, and had been destroyed at a landfill site. The only item left on the street was an old tape from a video camera.
