A plus-size woman has claimed that she was escorted off a flight for her "inappropriate outfit" and was questioned by police officers as a result.
Hair stylist Ray Lin Howard, who also goes by rap name Fat Trophy Wife, shared the video of her being questioned by airport police after she was ejected from an Alaska Airlines flight in front of her child.
The offending garment appeared to be a purple animal print crop top which covered her sports bra - it is thought that she initially only wore the latter at the time of the first warning by the flight attendant.
She then put the crop top on before being harassed on two more occasions before being ejected.
The video is dated to have happened on September 4, 2021 but has gone viral after attracting over 1.5 million likes and over 31,000 comments on the social media platform in support of Ray.
The caption on the TikTok video read: "I was escorted off the plane by police tonight, how's your night going?"
She added: "@Alaska Airlines Flight attendant harassed and called the airport police on me for my inappropriate outfit."
The video starts with the rapper walking towards the room where she was questioned as she secretly recorded the interaction with the police officer.
"So what happened on the flight?" he asked. "I was harassed about my outfit. I put my shirt back on," she explained.
"So you did have it off at some point?" the cop questioned.
Rayretorted: "Yeah, I had this [sports bra] on. They asked me to put my shirt on. [I] put the shirt back on, and then they approached me again.
"Saying that I can't wear this, my stomach is showing, and it's inappropriate. And I said I'm covered up, I'm fine, and she just kept going.
"And I said if you're going to kick me off, then kick me off. I've done what you've asked me to do. I want you to leave me alone.
"That was the third time they approached me about my outfit. About wearing this outfit. That's why you were called, because of this."
The police officer insisted that Ray was not in "any criminal trouble" but wanted to get her side of the story, although he did mention that the airline did have a dress code.
"I looked at the policy," Ray interjected and implied that she looked up the policy when asked by the flight attendant.
"I'm being harassed and now I'm being detained. You guys come and pull me off the plane in front of my child, that's detained."
He responded: "We're just trying to investigate and see if there were any crimes that did occur. From what I am gathering, there were not."
"I wore an outfit, that's what happened," Ray quipped. "And that's all I'm trying to determine," the officer said.
Nearly all of the comments were in support of the rapper, with one person saying: "ALASKA AIRLIES HAD DONE IT AGAIN. They did this to me and I am currently suing!!"
A second TikTok user wrote: "LAWSUIT!!!! and they are 100% losing." A third added: "He sounds so nervous because he knows they were wrong."
