Mum hit with £100 parking fine for 'simple error' says she's 'not paying a penny'

An angry mum has claimed she is "not paying a penny" after being hit with a parking fine of £100 - after she entered the 'wrong' number plate details when paying her charge.

Eileen Povey, a Tesco customer service manager, stated she made a "genuine mistake" when she hit the zero (0) button instead of an O on the ticket machine, reports Birmingham Live.

The "law abiding" citizen was surprised when presented with a £60 fine after paying the 50p charge to park her car. Eileen parked in Church Road car park, Erdington, Birmingham in January, and is stating she is "ready to go to court" after her appeal to the company, I Park Services, was unsuccessful.
