Mum has to live apart from kids after asbestos and damp found in council house

A disabled single mum has told of how her council house is "not safe" due to asbestos and damp which has forced her to send her children to stay with her parents.

Mum-of-two Cheryl Kerr said that the property on Uig Way, in Shotts, North Lanarkshire, is also "dangerous" for her due to her illness, reported the Daily Record.

The 41-year-old, who suffers from fibromyalgia, has blasted North Lanarkshire Council for housing her and along with the two children in the property.
