Mum grateful Covid delayed wedding as she shed 11 stone swapping size 30 dress for slinky gown

After Covid delayed her wedding for two years, this mum was forced to buy a new wedding dress after managing to lose over 11st ahead of her big day. Melissa Williams, from Bridgend, South Wales, was 25st 4lbs and a size 30 when she originally bought the wedding dress that she was due to wear in the summer of 2020.

However, the pandemic delayed her wedding and the 27-year-old tied the knot on April 29, 2022 to her husband, Chris, 29, wearing an entirely new size 16 dress after losing an impressive 11st 2lbs. Melissa says that she was so grateful for the pandemic delaying her wedding because it meant she didn't have to spend her special day hating the way she looked.

She added: "I've been big for as long as I could remember. I was a secret eater and a binge eater.
