Mum gobsmacked over family’s 'messed up' response to pregnancy announcement

The power of the internet has allowed us to witness all kinds of different reactions to pregnancy announcements over the years - whether it's hilarious, emotional, or even utter shock. However, a new video, which has surfaced online has taken reactions to a new extreme as a woman breaks the news to her mum that she's expecting a third child.

Whilst a family member was quick to label the mum's disappointing reaction as "really messed up", users on popular video-streaming service TikTok have since thought otherwise. Initially surprising her mum with the ultrasound photo of her unborn child, the expecting parent was in utter disbelief as the reaction was far from what she anticipated.

In the viral clip, which has already exceeded 10 million views to date, a man recorded the interaction between the mother and daughter as she broke the news.

However, it's safe to say that no one expected the response from the grandmother - or as TikTokers are now describing her as the "full-time nanny".

"Another one... already?" The woman's mum asked in disbelief, creating a mixed bag of responses between family.

"What?!" One shocked person said.

"Mum!" A second gasped.

The woman's mother continued: "Oh my God, I just think you guys... I mean you can't handle the two you have.

"Really? Another baby?" She questioned and sighed.

"That's really messed up mum," a family member said off screen as she came to the expectant parent's defence.

"Whatever, that didn't go well," the man filming admitted as he switched off the camera.

Whilst the reaction may initially seem surprising, considering that times of pregnancy are expected to be wholesome and surrounded by celebrations of our closest family and friends, users online quickly defended the reaction.

One user admitted: "The truth hurts but needs to be said."

"Applauding the honest grandma that gets stuck with the two grandkids all the time," a second agreed.

A third added: "What happens when the grandma is the full-time nanny."

"More people need to be this honest," a fourth wrote.

A different user came to the pregnant woman's defence: "I’m so disappointed for you. My dad's reaction was the worst I went through seven years of hell and he told me to get out."
