A mum was left "gobsmacked" after a woman came out of her house and approached her and told her off for picking up after her dog.
The mum was "minding her own business" while walking her dog, who stopped in the street to do his business. The mum then rifled through her pocket for a poo bag to pick up the excrements, but while doing so, a woman marched over to her.
The woman demanded to know what the mum was doing. The mum explained she was picking up after her dog, to which the woman replied: "Well, I should think so."

The woman then continued to berate the mum, giving her demands and dictating what she should be doing. The mum then "snapped" and asked the woman "what the hell was wrong" with her.
Wanting to gauge opinions, she took to Mumsnet's popular Am I Being Unreasonable [AIBU] thread with a post titled: "[AIBU] To be gobsmacked for being told off for picking up after my dog??" and explained the situation.
She penned: "He decides he needs a poo so I stand next to him rifling in my pocket for a poo bag. A woman comes out of her house and walks towards her car. Stops dead in her tracks and glares at me. I say tentatively... hello? She says 'I would like to know what you're doing?' I reply.. well I'm just about to clean up after my dog. She replies 'well I should think so!!'
"I was.. like.. well yep.. there you go! That's what I'm doing. She then says... 'don't even THINK about putting it in my bin!!' I said I have absolutely no intention of putting it in your bin.. I have my own bin thanks!! Turning to pick up his poo.. she carries on. 'I can't believe you're just standing there, waiting for him to finish!!'
"I snapped at this point and said what the hell is wrong with you?? What do you want me to do, drag him down the street mid poo?? She then got in her car and shot off at about 60 mph! I mean come on! I've heard of dog owners being told off for leaving their dog's mess... but I still can't get my head around this!!! (btw [by the way] he is a very small dog and his poo is like raisins! I always pick up, even [though] I think no one would even notice it.) AIBU to think the woman was absolutely crackers??"
The mum's post was met with a flurry of responses from fellow Mumsnet users keen to share their thoughts. One quipped: "I would have said, of course I'm waiting for him to finish do you wipe your a**e mid s**t?"
Another said: "I'd have put it in her bin just to wind her up". A third said: "Well someone clearly p***ed on her cornflakes didn't they. Maybe she was having a bad day… it happens. But YANBU [you are not being unreasonable] to think 'what the hell'…"
One Mumsnet user said: "She was hoping you'd walk away without picking it up, so that she could shout at you. You spoiled her plan."
In a follow up post, the mum added: "I'm still baffled a few hours later. She was obviously in a vile mood. I was doing the right thing and got completely vilified! I forgot to say.. at the end when she was saying it's weird you're just standing there waiting for him to finish. She said.. it's kind of disgusting! And I used to have a dog!! I was speechless!"
