A mum has told how she is “forever haunted by the thoughts of his final moments” after he was one of 48 who died in a horrific nightclub fire.
The mother of Gertrude Barrett gave a vivid account of her family’s trauma in a powerful address at the start of a long-awaited inquest into the deaths at the Stardust Ballroom in Dublin in 1981.
The fire in Artane in the north of the city broke out in the early hours of Valentine’s Day killing 48 people.
