Mum flabbergasted after spotting face of Sesame Street's Big Bird in clouds

A mum says she couldn't believe her eyes after looking to the sky and seeing what appeared to be the classic Sesame Street character, Big Bird.

Mum-of-three Karen Harman spotted the likeness during a trip to a local beach last month with her husband Jim Harman. The sight of what appeared to be the 8ft 2 bird took them both by surprise, and Karen knew she had to get a photo before it drifted away.

The huge cloud formation looked to be the absolute image of the beloved yellow muppet, who had been Karen's favourite character as a child, from the fluffy outline of a feathery head, to the beak and shoulders.

Absolutely stunned by what she was seeing, the 51-year-old pasta-making teacher, who has always been fascinated by cloud formations, took a snap of the uncanny formation. She's since shared the pic online, where it's clocked up more than 11,000 likes, shares, and comments.

Karen, from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, US, said: "For some reason I have a strange addiction with

cloud formations.

I'm forever looking at clouds.

"I was sitting at the beach on a chair looking out at the ocean and noticed the cloud looked just like Big Bird. I pointed it out to my husband who said 'oh gosh, you and your clouds', but he agreed it looked like him."

She continued: "As quickly as you see a cloud, the formation disappears. My phone was readily available to click away. When I was young I remember watching Sesame Street. Big Bird was my favourite."

A number of Karen's followers were left equally amazed by the fluffy apparition and agreed that it certainly looked very much as though Big Bird himself had come to pay her a visit.

One fellow Sesame Street fan approved: "Big Bird at the beach!! What could be better?"

Another approved: "That's brilliant."

A third wowed individual simply commented: "Uncanny."
