Mum 'disgusted' as Smyths 'banned son from using his pocket money'

A mum was "disgusted" after claiming Smyths toy store wouldn't let her son use his pocket money.

Emily White, 26, said the issue arose when she tried to pay for a toy airplane and a tea set using coins that her two-year-old son had saved up himself. She was shocked when the staff member declined the payment and said she needed to pay by card or go to the nearest cash machine instead.

The mum claims staff at the store told her and her mother, who was also present, that there was a limit of £10 for people trying to use coins to buy items. This, according to Emily, was the Mansfield store's policy, reported Nottinghamshire Live.
