A mum has died and her seven-year-old son left severely injured when their toboggan crashed on a theme park's dry ski slope.
Teacher Luciana Morgado Cerri Teixeira, 42, was sent flying through the air when their sleigh hit a railing at high speed, report media in Brazil.
Her son - who has not been named - received facial injuries in the crash at Ski Mountain Park in Sao Roque, Sao Paulo state, on April 8.
He was taken to the local Santa Casa clinic before being transferred to Sao Francisco Hospital for further treatment.
His mother died of her injuries at the Santa Casa clinic and local media are waiting for the result of an autopsy.
Ski Mountain Park managers say they are cooperating with the police inquiry into the death.
The theme park - which features an artificial ski slope, toboggan hill slides and an ice skating ring - was closed for the remainder of the weekend.
Ski Mountain Park released a statement on social media saying: "The Ski Park comes publicly to express deep condolences to the victim's family.
"The company is and will be available to the family. It will also be available to the authorities in order to collaborate with the investigation of the facts."
The 350-metre-long toboggan track is described as an "unmissable adventure" on the theme park's website.
Users can choose between simple tracks or tracks with obstacles like artificial mini moguls and bumps.
Luciana - who also had a 15-year-old daughter - was a teacher at Colegio Photon school in Campinas.
Affectionately called 'Aunt Lu' by her students, she has been described as "an incredible, phenomenal human being" by her employer on social media.
Colegio Photon released a statement on social media, saying: "A teacher, an incredible, phenomenal human being! Lu, gratitude for all the years of love and dedication to our educational project! You will always be present in our memories and in our hearts! Eternal love for you!"
On Sunday, a post appeared on Luciana's Instagram account informing her friends and followers about the funeral the following day.
The message read: "Our dear and beloved Lu went to live with God. You are already missed - as a loving and protective daughter and mother, as a companion and dedicated wife, a welcoming and affectionate sister, a competent and exemplary professional, a dear servant of God, aunt and sister-in-law.
"Words cannot describe her, and those who knew her know exactly what we are talking about. A friend for all hours, her family, nephews, uncles, cousins, brothers-in-law, friends, students and brothers in faith suffer copiously.
"They all know how difficult the days will be without you and we know that the Consoling Spirit will be with us because only He can support us.
"We will always be proud of this angel, a woman with a wide smile who left great memories wherever she went. We will love you forever!"
