(Picture: Google Maps)A mother has died after attending a cold water therapy session popular with Coleen Rooney, Stephen Graham and other celebrities.
The 39-year-old, who has not been named, was pulled from the water at Breatheolution in Buxworth, Derbyshire on Monday.
The mum, from Manchester, had been acclimatising to the cold water in the River Goyt during a two-hour session alongside friends, according to reports.
She was said to have been laughing before she suddenly collapsed.
The mum-of-three was helped out of the river by Breatheolution owner Kevin O’Neill who then performed CPR.
An air ambulance landed at the beauty spot but she died in hospital.
Mr O’Neill told The Sun: “I am heartbroken. I’ve not slept and I’m finding it hard to process. I cannot stop thinking about her family. It’s tragic.
“I have taken 1,100 people into the water over two years and nothing like this has ever happened. It’s a freak incident and very sadly someone has lost their life.”
He added everyone who attends the camp, visited by actor Stephen Graham and former Manchester United footballer Chris Smalling, signs a waiver and they are asked about their medical history.
Video from the Breatholution’s social media shows people taking deep breaths before being dunked in a cold river and crawling under logs in the sessions that can cost up to £200.
Derbyshire Police said in a statement: “Several officers attended. Paramedics took the 39-year-old woman to hospital but she was later pronounced dead.
“There are no suspicious circumstances and we are preparing a file for the coroner.”
Chesterfield Coroners Office has been notified.
