The birth of a baby often brings in a wave of celebrations - from friends, family, and even colleagues from work. An abundance of well-wishing messages and celebratory gifts can help appreciate the wholesome early days.
A new mum is devastated, therefore, after claiming that she received 'no congratulations' on the arrival of her birth. Taking to popular forum Mumsnet, the woman voiced her upset that she never received messages about her birth.
The child is now four months old - and the mum is still awaiting a message from all but one of her work colleagues. Captioning the post, she wrote: "No congratulations on my birth."
She explained: "I've had only one message from a work colleague congratulating me. My baby is four months. Most knew I was pregnant.
"I'm not really saying that everyone should be fussing over me and cooing over my baby, I think I would have just appreciated a few messages just saying 'congratulations, hope you ok'.
"I think what hurts more is that two of my work colleagues who I thought I was particularly close to haven't even bothered to message me at all. They have messaged others who have had babies but not me.
Seeking advice, she questioned: "Am I being unreasonable or is it just life get over it?"
Flocking to the comment section, Mumsnet users sympathised with the parent.
One person wrote: "That's rubbish, OP. Could it be that they're waiting for you to initiate contact because they don't want to disturb you? Have you sent a photo etc?"
Meanwhile, someone else wrote: "As work colleagues we would maybe send a card from us all. I wouldn't contact a work colleague to congratulate them though."
