The mum of a teenager who died aged 17 said she "blamed herself" for his death.
Mum-of-three Barbara McNair, 63, from Ellesmere Port, lost her son, Alex, in 2011 after he was seen repeatedly "rolling his eyes back" one evening. The next day, Alex, who was autistic and "struggled to tell his family what was wrong", died at home from a burst appendix.
A year later, in September 2012, the family was struck by another tragedy as Barbara, 53 at the time and newly out of work due to asthma, was diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma, a rare form of cancer. She was given the all clear in March 2013, before receiving another cancer diagnosis, this time for breast cancer.
