Mum asks her Gen Z son simple general knowledge questions and he fails massively

A mum has shared the moment her Gen Z son failed to answer several basic trivia questions correctly - including 'what is the third month of the year'. Taking to TikTok, the mum - who goes by the username Mommabrit07 - uploaded a video of her son's answers as she gave him a general knowledge quiz.

At the start of the video, she asks him: "How many states make up the United States?" He replied with: "Forty-eight." However, the correct answer is 50.

She goes on to ask what the capital city of the US is, he simply replies: "Isn't it the United States?" She jokingly tells him: "Yes, good job," although to the teen, it appears that he believes she's telling him he indeed got the answer right.

In the third question, the mother asks him: "Do you know what century we are in?" The son tells her: "The 20th." She goes on to ask him how many make up a dozen - to which he says twelve, answering one question right so far in the video.

He is then asked: "What is the third month of the year?" He giggles as he takes a while to consider his answer before settling on November. The mum laughs while telling him: "Yes, thank you for getting it right. I was like 'no, of all the questions, you can't get that one wrong'." Although, the correct answer is actually March.

The teen then says: "I completely guessed by the way," the mum replies: "Well, good guess buddy." Another question she fires at him is to do with the number of seasons we have, and he informs her that he believes there are seven.

Although the right answer is four, the dad can then be heard in the background struggling to hold in his laughter as he tells the son: "Yes, holy cow, thank god. Okay, you're smart."

Since the clip was uploaded, it has now gained more than five million views, with plenty of mixed reactions in the comment section. Some found the whole thing funny, while others had concerns of their own.

Peaches Bikinis commented: "Hilarious… we’re freakin doomed." Savvy replied: "Effing hilarious." Lindsay added: "Aw, he tried."
