Mum and four children who went missing in Wales have been found

A mother and her four children who went missing in Wales have been found safe and well.

South Wales Police launched a missing persons appeal in the early hours of Tuesday morning for a 33-year-old mum called Jemma, and her children Christopher (aged 11), Julian (9), Maddison (7) and Stephen (3). They went missing from Merthyr Tydfil on Monday.

On Twitter, police said: "Help us find Jemma and her four children. Jemma, 33, Christopher, 11, Julian, 9, Maddison, 7 and Stephen, 3, from Merthyr Tyfdil , were reported missing yesterday. Please contact us quoting occurrence number 2200239755."

Anyone who has seen Jemma or her children, or has information that could help locate them, was asked to call 101 or use the online portal here.

In an update at 12.36pm on Tuesday, South Wales Police confirmed that the mum and her four children had been found safe and well.
