Whether you're sitting on a long or short-haul flight, a good seat on an airplane can make the world of difference. However, one family has gone to extreme lengths to insist that they get the best seats on their flight as they kicked up a fuss and demanded that other passengers gave up their aisle seats.
A video shared to popular video-streaming service TikTok shows a mum and her daughter allegedly getting kicked off a flight after they yelled at fellow passengers. The TikTok video captured the duo stepping onto the Southwest Airlines flight from an airport in Sacramento, California.
Having originally been shared back in 2021, the viral video is making the rounds online again, having skyrocketed in views once more.
The clip, posted by @official_norcal_mom, shows the mum and daughter boarding the full flight and shouting their demands as there were no extra seats left.
The TikToker captioned her video: "They thought everyone should move, so they could have an aisle seat.
"The flight attendant politely asked them that they could not ask a full plane of people to move seats. (It's first come first served.)"
In the video, a crew member is seen talking to them and could be heard saying: "We have families. We have little kids.
"We can’t have people yelling. You are screaming and yelling."
The daughter can then be heard on the video saying, "We'll just go sit down" while sarcastically saying that her mother is "just gonna grab onto you and cry and scream on the plane."
When another flight attendant asks to put them on another plane, the pair walk past them to look for aisle seats.
At this point, the flight had allegedly been delayed for two hours, and passengers were forced to wait even longer for airport staff to remove the mum and daughter.
The woman who posted the video onto TikTok added: "The flight attendant felt like the passengers weren't safe with that behaviour.
"The whole plane applauded when they were removed."
Southwest Airlines has a "pick a seat" system where they don't assign seats to any passengers but they are put into different "boarding groups" based on the time they checked in on a first-come-first-served basis.
