A six-month old boy and his teenage mum were among six people shot in the head during a "horrific massacre", it has emerged.
Alissa Parraz, 16, and her baby son, Nycholas Nolan Parraz, from Goshen, California, US, were among two victims identified after the pair were found in a ditch outside their home in the early hours of Monday morning.
Police were called to the scene and found the baby cradled in Parraz's arms as she tried to flee the shooting.
The pair were shot dead along with her uncle, her dad's cousin, her grandmother and great-grandmother.
Parraz’s grandfather Samuel Pina admitted he “can’t wrap my head around what kind of monster would do this”.
He said the mum and baby boy were living with her dad's side of the family at the time of the attack.

Shyla Pina, Parraz's mum, revealed she had yet to meet her grandson as she posted a heartbreaking Facebook post mourning the lost of her daughter.

“Alissa mommy loves u and my grandson so much I miss u more then u know, I wish u were here in my hands.”
Police believe two gunmen broke into the address in Harvest Road, Goshen, and fire multiple rounds in the early hours of Monday morning.
The Tulore County Sheriff Mike Boudreaux said officers were called to the home at around 3.30am amid reports of a shooting.
He said: “Actually the report was that an active shooter was in the area because of the number of shots that were being fired."
When cops arrived at the house they found two victims dead on the street with a third victim in the doorway.
Three more victims were discovered in the home with one of victim still alive and rushed to hospital but later died following his injuries.
Police confirmed six people were killed while another two people who were inside the home survived.
Sheriff Mike Boudreaux said they are searching for the killers who "targeted" the family as he believes the attack is gang-related.
He confirmed just a week ago cops executed a search warrant for drugs at the family home.
Officers made one arrest and seized guns, marijuana and methamphetamine.
He said: “We also believe this was not a random act of violence. We believe this was a targeted family.
“I think it’s specifically connected to the cartel. The level of violence … this was not your run-of-the-mill, low-end gang member."
