Tragedy struck St. Lucie County as multiple individuals lost their lives in the wake of a severe storm, according to Sheriff Keith Pearson. While the exact number of casualties remains unknown, Sheriff Pearson confirmed the unfortunate news of multiple fatalities.
The county experienced the impact of several tornadoes within a short 20-minute timeframe, leaving a trail of destruction in their path. Particularly devastating was the strike on a modular home community designated for residents aged 55 and older. The tornadoes lifted, moved, and destroyed entire homes with occupants still inside, leaving nothing but devastation in their wake.
