A number of vehicles almost ended up submerged on a Cornish beach this weekend. Six cars were rescued from Newquay's Porth Beach around 7pm on Saturday (August 13) during high tide.
The cars had been left parked at the top of the beach, and according to Cornwall Live, one narrowly avoided being claimed by the tide entirely. Witness Lisa Hammond said she was unsure what happened or why they were parked there.
Mrs Hammond said the cars had to be pushed backwards by people at the beach. She said: "All cars, vans moved except for one black car. Water was lapping it’s door frame by the time the owner ran to it.
