Seven people were arrested for offences including criminal damage and assaulting police officers after England’s World Cup clash against Norway yesterday.
Footage on social media shows fans flooding the streets around the West End, blocking roads and dancing as they brought traffic to a standstill.
Crowds of England fans surrounded cars as they chanted “It’s coming home,” and waved the flag of St George.
Some could be seen climbing traffic lights and scaffolding, while others set off fireworks.
Police officers could be seen telling some England fans to “move back” as they attempted to restore order.

Despite this, Met Police said seven people were arrested.
One person was arrested for criminal damage; two people were arrested for assaulting police officers; two people were arrested for being drunk and disorderly and two people were arrested for other public offences.
All remain in custody.
One witness said there was a “buzzing” atmosphere in central London yesterday, which resembled a “festival” more than a football watch party.
It comes after a police officer was knocked unconscious as clashes erupted in the heart of London after Morocco were defeated by France in the World Cup.
Hundreds of people had gathered on the street on Thursday night after the quarter-final game, which saw France beat Morocco two-nil thanks to second-half goals from Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele.
Scores of officers attended the scene with police in riot gear seen forming a line across the road in a bid to restore order.
