Ireland AM presenter Muireann O’Connell has revealed that while she has not made any wedding plans yet, she is tempted to elope with her fiancè.
Speaking to RSVP Live, the Limerick TV host said that she got engaged to her partner just before Christmas in 2021.
However, O’Connell has yet to organise their special day with her partner, who is known as her housemate due to his preference to stay out of the limelight.

Speaking to the publication, Muireann explained: “It’s weird because I do think there are some family members looking at the watch and waiting for the wedding. I’d say we will marry, but it will probably be for other people.
“We love each other a lot and have a great relationship but I just never thought of marriage, but then we got engaged and I thought, ‘Oh okay, this is a thing.’ It’s not me being obtuse but I just never imagined the big dress or the day.”
The Limerick native added that getting married and telling her friends and family about it is a very tempting prospect, saying: “That would be bloody marvellous. No fuss. I think a wedding day is intimidating.
"There’s a lot of focus on you and pressure. I just don’t think I’d want a lot of eyes on me.”
However, the TV presenter said that she could never imagine her wedding day due to a lack of organisational skills.
“I love going to other people’s weddings, it’s gorgeous, I love to see what other people do and how they celebrate. But I just never imagined it for myself.
“Plus, I’m terrible at organising things so I can’t imagine doing it. A friend of mine just got engaged and she is planning her wedding so I might just copy her!”
