A vital Paisley community hub was looted at the weekend.
Raiders targeted Ferguslie's Tannahill Centre, forcing facilities there to close temporarily.
The news has been branded "disappointing" by the area's Councillor Kenny MacLaren, who said anyone targeting the centre is guilty of "attacking the whole community".
Police say the Blackstoun Road facility, which houses vital community groups and organisations as well as providing for the deprived community of Ferguslie Park, was raided over the weekend.
Thieves escaped with a three-figure cash sum, as well as wreaking havoc on the surroundings, leaving a trail of damage.

Police at Paisley say the Ferguslie Family Centre was broken into sometime between 6pm on Friday and the early hours of Monday morning.
Staff realised intruders had been in the premises when they attempted to reopen after the weekend.
Officers say raiders "made a mess"" and left items strewn around, as well as lifting cash from the premises. Specialist forensics teams were drafted in to dust for prints at the site, which is covered by CCTV.
Cops say they are following a "positive line of inquiry" in relation to the incident.
Centre bosses announced the news on Facebook on Monday, when they revealed the popular cafe facility would be unable to open in the wake of the raid.
A post on the site reveals: "Over the weekend the Tannahill Centre kitchen was broken into. Theft and damage has taken place and the police are now involved with forensic and CCTV information collected.
"Due to this we have had to close the cafe - we will keep you posted on any future updates."
Services there were temporarily suspended but resumed today.
Councillor MacLaren hit out over the incident, saying: "It's really disappointing. It's quite a popular community base. There are lots of things happening there, it is a hub for the whole community, so it's really disappointing that someone has targeted it.
"If someone is attacking the Tannahill Centre, they are essentially attacking the whole community."
The Paisley Northwest SNP representative added: "There is a lot of great work done by the groups who run out of there, they do so much in the local area."
Local residents were also critical of the hit on the centre, which is located close to Ferguslie Police Office.
They took to Facebook to have a go at the culprits, with one woman saying: "That's a disgrace ... straight across from a police station hope they are caught", while another resident added: "That's bad for all the great work you all do. Shame on them."
Groups like the Darkwood Crew - who run services to help vulnerable residents in the area, including a low price community market to feed struggling households - are based at the centre.
