BBC Two's Inside No.9 is being axed after a whopping nine series on our TV screens.
The well-loved show will be given the send-off it deserves with a dramatic Christmas episode.
Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith, who created the show, said that they are going to focus on new projects - but have teased that it might not be goodbye forever.
The duo, who were behind the classic comedy The League of Gentlemen, with Mark Gatiss and Jeremy Dyson, have said it feels like a good time to take a break after nine series.
Speaking to The Sun, Steve said: "We feel it is a good time to pause Inside No.9 after we finish filming series nine next year.”
“We’re not saying it’s over for good. After all, The League Of Gentlemen came back, but we won’t be looking to make any more episodes for the time being.”
The dark comedy has featured some of the country's finest actors including Sheridan Smith, Keeley Hawes, the late Helen McCroy, Alison Steadman, Sir Derek Jacobi and Katherine Parkinson.
Their final hurrah (for now) will be called The Bones of St Nicholas, which will air next Thursday and stars Simon Callow and Corrie's Shobna Gulati.
The festive episode will be set inside a mysterious church.
"We were delighted to be asked to do it and it's come together in a lovely way and is a real treat for Christmas" Reece said.
"I think it will be great to settle down and watch on a late December night and have your spine tingled."
It has been described as a "perfect blend of drama, comedy and horror" by Shobna.
This isn't the first time the show has been put on ice, as it was revived 15 years after it was axed in 2002.
Each story of Inside No. 9 follows the goings on inside a mansion, dressing room or flat - all number nine.
The show has scooped three National Television Award nominations.
Comedy geniuses Steve and Reece left The League of Gentlemen's audience in stitches with their silly one liners.
The sketch followed the strange people who lived in the fictional town of Royston Vasey.

Reece stepped away from his usual comedy roles for his creepy portrayal of Malcolm Webster in ITV's three-part crime drama The Widower.
Terrifyingly, Webster is a real-life murderer who was found guilty in 2011 of killing his first wife and trying to murder his second.
Steve has become a well-known face in many British comedies including Benidorm and Psychoville.
