Michigan State football has come up short again for a big-time prospect from the state of California.
Four-star wide receiver Kwazi Gilmer picked UCLA over the Spartans and a host of west coast teams earlier this week. Gilmer is from Chatsworth, Calif. and has family ties to UCLA.
Gilmer ranks as the No. 30 wide receiver and No. 196 overall prospect in 247Sports’ composite rankings for the 2024 class.
Michigan State has been listed as a finalist for a number of big-time recruits from the state of California but has yet to land a commitment from that state in this class. There was hope that Gilmer would end up in green-and-white but it appears he’ll be playing for a future Big Ten rival instead.
Four-star WR Kwazi Gilmer from Chatsworth (Calif.) Sierra Canyon has committed to UCLA.
His mom had him while she was a student there. He was born at Ronald Reagan Medical Center. She took him to her classes there.
