Michigan State star kicker Jonathan Kim is up for a major unique award this year.
Kim has been announced as a nominee for the Burlsworth Trophy. The Burlsworth Trophy was first awarded in 2010 and is presented each year to “ College football’s most outstanding player who began his career as a walk-on”.
Kim started his career at North Carolina before transferring in 2023. He has since been a star for the Spartans since coming to Michigan State, where he has hit 30 of 37 field goal attempts and 33 of 34 extra point attempts in his two years. This year, especially, he’s been impressive, making 17 of 19 field goal attempts.
The award will be handed out on December 8.
