We are only two weeks away from finding out if Michigan State can land a program-defining prospect.
Five-star defensive lineman David Stone will make his college decision on August 26, and he reportedly knows at least three of the schools that’ll have hats on the table. Stone told Chad Simmons of On3 this week that Michigan State, Oklahoma and Miami (FL) are the three schools that are still in the running with room for a fourth team to join the party — potentially Florida, Oregon or Texas A&M.
Stone ranks as the No. 2 defensive lineman and No. 6 overall prospect in the country in 247Sports’ composite rankings for the 2024 class. He holds offers from all of the big-time schools in the country.
Michigan State had once been in the lead for Stone according to recruiting insiders but Oklahoma has since taken over the lead based on crystal ball predictions on 247Sports. There were some reports and rumors this week that Michigan State had fallen out of Stone’s top three but that apparently is not the case based on Simmons’ article from Friday.
