Michigan State isn’t near the top of the standings in the Big Ten right now, but they are considered one of the league’s best teams by NET standards.
An updated batch of NET rankings were released on Wednesday, which had the Spartans listed as one of the top teams from the Big Ten. Michigan State comes in at No. 27 nationally, which is behind only Purdue (No. 3), Illinois (No. 9) and Wisconsin (No. 16) in the Big Ten.
The NET rankings system is utilized by the NCAA Tournament Selection Committee for the 2024 field. Michigan State is currently 9-6 overall this year, but despite a poor record, appears to be still in a great position to reach the tournament.
