Michigan State basketball will open the season next month shorthanded.
The Spartans announced on Wednesday that sophomore forward Jaxon Kohler will miss the start of the season as he recovers from foot surgery. He had the procedure done on his left foot on Tuesday and is expected to be back before Christmas, according to Chris Solari of the Detroit Free Press.
Kohler appeared in 34 games last year as a true freshman. He averaged 3 points and 2.9 rebounds across 10.8 minutes per game last year.
