Ms. Rachel reveals in a new song that her son Thomas was born after a miscarriage, calling him her “rainbow baby.”

Below an Instagram video, children’s YouTube sensation Ms. Rachel - whose real name is Rachel Griffin Accurso - wrote in a heartfelt caption explaining the background behind her new song.

“My rainbow baby is not a baby anymore but he’ll always be my rainbow baby,” she said. “So much love to anyone who understands.”

“Rainbow baby” is defined as a baby who is born following a miscarriage, stillbirth or neonatal death - a way to acknowledge that the baby is a blessing and a miracle after enduring difficult times. In the video, Ms. Rachel plays the piano and sings the lyrics: “Rainbow baby, dream come true. Rainbow baby, if you knew, every prayer we said for you. Rainbow baby, dream come true.”

Fans were incredibly supportive of Ms. Rachel and her sweet song.

“The way you can touch kids and parents alike with your talent is truly such a gift,” one user commented.

“Thank you for using your platform to break the silence,” another added.

Some people shared their own experiences in the comment section.

“My daughter is a rainbow baby,” one user wrote. “Seven miscarriages and 19 years of grueling unsuccessfully IVF. We finally got our rainbow.”

“I was just telling my daughter she is my dream come true,” someone else shared. “She hugged me and said I was hers.”

“Sending love,” another added. “I had 3 miscarriages, my 4-year-old, two miscarriages, my 7-month-old. It’s so hard. Big hugs [and] thanks for using this space to share your truth. It will help heal hearts!”

Ms. Rachel and her husband, Aron Accurso, welcomed Thomas in 2018, who was the inspiration behind their successful YouTube channel, “Songs For Littles,” which teaches children their first words. The educator and songwriter has amassed more than 11 million subscribers on the platform.

Last year, Accurso spoke to People about balancing motherhood with her YouTube career.

“It’s been hard to balance everything, which I think a lot of parents feel, but it was really important to me to have all that knowledge and early childhood to being in this field,” she told the outlet. “I felt that it was crucial for me to have that and I feel more confident. I just feel like I have a lot of tools.”

She added, “I’ve learned to help parents and I think I have a good work-life balance. Sometimes it takes us a while to get things out, but it’s important to me to have that.”
