As Brits continue to face frosty temperatures across the country, mould is still wreaking havoc in our homes. The cold weather means that condensation is more likely to form on your windows, and eventually onto items like curtains and blinds, which ultimately creates the perfect damp conditions for mould to thrive.
Thankfully, however, fans of cleaning influencer Mrs Hinch - who boasts more than four million followers on Instagram - have shared a solution to tackling the common problem, the Express reports. A cleaning enthusiast took to a Facebook page created in honour of Mrs Hinch - where fans share their best cleaning advice with one another.
On the popular group - with over 100,000 members - one fan sought advice for the best solution to removing mould from blinds.
Jordan Fothergill wrote: "Can someone recommend any way I can get mould off blinds, I can't wash them in the washing machine I've tried and they get ruined?"
Accompanying her post, Jordan shared a snap of white, vertical blinds, which had an array of mould spots aligning the bottom of them.
After sharing her concerns, the post was inundated with comments in minutes as other Mrs Hinch fans recommended their best tips and tricks.
Mrs Hinch fan Amanda Boom shared their first-hand advice: "I sprayed mine with Astonish mould spray, left them for 20 minutes then dipped them in warm water and left them to drip dry - came out like new."
The Facebook user suggested that Jordan purchased Astonish's Mould & Mildew Trigger Spray, which can be purchased for as little as £1.20 from Ocado.
Meanwhile, Wendy Wilson said: "I put mine in the bath with cold water and cheap bleach. Came up lovely."
Ros Moorhouse commented: "I wash mine in the washing machine all the time. I take them down, take everything off them, put them in a washing bag, or fold them carefully in a pillow case and pin them down.
"Wash on quick wash, iron over and re hang - lot of work but look lovely when done," they added.
On the other hand, a different user suggested that Jordan should social her blinds in a tub of varnish and scrub the mould with a small nail brush.
Alternatively, Facebook user Emma Bullement shared her first-hand experience, expressing her praise for the Astonish mould spray. She advised her to leave the blinds for ten minutes and rinse them - which will leave them back to normal with the 'nice easy fix'.
Margaret Bunts, another fan of the Astonish spray, advised: "Mould and mildew spray and use a magic sponge."
Maureen Round agreed: "The lining of my curtains looked like that - I sprayed them with mould and mildew cleaner and was shocked the next day when it had disappeared."
"HG spray mould and mildew," Diane Riches added.
Urusula Durman recommended this product too, saying: "HG mould spray is amazing."
Lindsay Williams said: "I just sprayed mine with mould and mildew spray with an old towel underneath, they came up like new."
Paula Cairns' advice was a little different, as she said: "Soak them in the bath with dishwasher tablets. Just done mine and they look like the day I got them."
Meanwhile, Anne-Louise McCourt Fell wrote: "I laid the slats in the bath four at a time, wet them, sprayed with Astonish Mould and Mildew spray, left for 10 minutes, turned them over and sprayed again, left for another 10 minutes.
She went on: "Keep repeating until totally clean, then rinse. I hung them back up and put old sweet tubs under them to catch the drips.
"My weights and chains were an off-white colour which I never liked, so got new ones off Amazon. Has been a great job and saved a fortune. Good luck."
