Mrs Hinch fans share best ways to clean tea stains from cups and mugs

If you often have trouble removing tea stains from cups, you could find a solution here.

Fans of cleaning guru Mrs Hinch have shared some tips on the best ways to get rid of the stains from tea mugs. The advice was given on a Mrs Hinch followers' group after a question was asked about methods to clean tea-stained cups.

Many people suggested using bleach. One said: "Spray bleach, leave for about 30 mins, then rinse out". Another suggested: "Soak in warm water, with a little bleach."

A third said: "Soak in a bit of bleach and hot water for a few hours and then use a metal scourer." And a fourth added: "Bleach them overnight in a bowl then put in a dishwasher to sparkle them up."

However, some said bleach should be avoided and offered alternative methods, reports Leicestershire Live. One said: "Denture cleaning tablets, [they] work easily. Using bleach is dangerous if you don’t get it all rinsed away."

There were a number of other solutions too, with people suggesting the use of cream cleaner, washing powder, salt, vinegar or even just boiling water. "Salt works a treat," said one.

"Salt on damp cloth, then wash and rinse," suggested a second. "I spray vinegar on the inside, let it sit, then wash as normal. Clean as a whistle," added a third.
