Anyone who has ever used make-up will relate to the heart dropping feeling when a drop of foundation or smear of lipstick lands onto the carpet floor.
Beauty lovers will be filled with sheer panic as they scrub at the floor with a variety of cleaning products, often to no avail.
Thankfully, some cleaning gurus have come to the rescue after a woman made a desperate plea for pesky foundation stains on carpet.
Fans of cleaning sensation Mrs Hinch, aka Sophie Hinchliffe, have come up trumps with a nifty hack to lift difficult beauty marks.
Taking to popular Facebook group Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips - which boasts more than 620,000 members - a woman named Diane asked people for advice.
Diane said: "I've got foundation on my carpet, tried all the carpet cleaner to no avail.
Seeking help, she questioned: "Can anyone suggest anything please?"
Since sharing, Diane's post has raked in various comments from fans of Sophie Hinchfliffe.
Several people raved about a clever a 95p fix to rid of the mark.
One person suggested: "Shaving foam."
"Dishwasher tablet or shaving foam," a second agreed.
A third added: "Slightly dampen the area and apply shaving foam straight into the stain gently, rub it in with fingers or toothbrush than vaxx."
Shaving foam can be purchased for as little as 95p from popular supermarket Aldi.
While the product, which is most likely sat at your bathroom cupboard, seemingly cleans make-up stains easily, other Facebook users shared their own first-hand advice.
"Micellar water removes it first time," one person claimed.
Meanwhile, a second penned: "Body Shop camomile cleansing butter it is the number one absolute fail safe for any make-up removal it's fantastic stuff xx."
