Fans of cleaning guru Mrs Hinch have shared a great way of banishing limescale from toilets without the need to scrub.
A landlord asked for advice on the Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips Facebook page after their previous tenant left their loo in a bad state. They wrote: "My tenants have just moved out and besides leaving the house rather dirty, the toilet is black. Best solutions to get it back to white please?"
A number of people recommended bleach but others said that wasn't the most effective way to get rid of limescale, as it just lightens it, masking it rather than removing it. Cleaning enthusiasts suggested using Harpic Power Plus tablets, as they "work fantastically."

One wrote: "Harpic tablets work all the time and you don't need to scrub, just brush it off with your toilet brush after the tablets have been left to soak for some time." Another said: "Harpic toilet tablets, you only need two of them. Leave them in the bowl for around 20 to 30 minutes then brush and flush."
A third Mrs Hinch fan added: "Twenty minutes and any thick brown toilet limescale will be gone. They are amazing and the best thing for limescale in your toilet."
On Harpic's website, it says the product starts working "immediately" to thoroughly clean where households can't reach, "without any need to scrub," reports The Mirror. The tablets come in packs of eight and cost £3 at most supermarkets such as Tesco, Sainsbury's and Ocado. As only two tablets need to be used at one time this works out as 75p per use.
Meanwhile, another person recommended using white vinegar as a more "natural" way to banish limescale.
