BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh received bountiful rain this monsoon, but hydel power units — one of the clean, green source of power — have failed to step up generation.
Against an installed capacity of 921MW of hydel power in the state, barely 41% is being generated as of now. This non-generation of power in peak monsoon season has led to losses running into several thousand crores of rupees for the MP power generation company (MP GENCO).
