NEW DELHI: With assembly election in Madhya Pradesh about six months away, chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has stepped up efforts to woo all sections of the society. Towards that end, he will distribute Rs 1,000 each to about 1.25 crore women of the state under ‘Mukhya Mantri Ladli Behna Yojana’ at Jabalpur on June 10.
Chouhan will distribute the first instalment of the ambitious scheme which was launched on March 5, 2023. The scheme was launched under the women and child development department with the objective of enabling economic independence of women in the state, sustained improvement in their health and nutrition levels and to strengthen their decision-making role within the family.
