The arrival of one of Glasgow's most highly-anticipated new restaurants is almost here, with confirmation Mowgli Street Food will open next month.
The team behind the hugely popular Indian eatery has told Glasgow Live the St Vincent Street food spot will welcome in customers this April.
Celebrity chef Nisha Katona, Founder and CEO, says ahead of the Glasgow opening: “It is to feel like the tired colonial buildings in Calcutta, tree roots growing through, Street food vendors sizzling their golden spiced magic in corners lit only by the amber twinkle fairy lights.”
Founded by Barrister and Food writer, Nisha Katona MBE, in 2014, Mowgli is proud to have 13 restaurants across the UK, with Glasgow being it's first Scottish destination. Meanwhile, Edinburgh will get its first Mowgli Street Food venue later this year.
Described as 'a fresh honest home and street food kitchen: pared back and unplugged', Nisha Katona further commented: “Mowgli is a home from home for the hungry and continues to be for our teams and guests. It is a place that is toddler and dog friendly, Somewhere you can spend time alone with a book, fed and plugged in”.
Furthermore, Mowgli will support a dedicated house charity and anticipates donating tens of thousands of pounds each year to help the local community.
“Wish us well as we build simply to enrich lives in the cities we go to” says Katona.
