A date for the celebration of Morgan Ridler's life has been set with his mum and dad saying they are so "incredibly honoured" to be his parents. The three-year-old, who would have been four on Friday, died last month after a brave battle with cancer.
At the weekend the Red Arrows dedicated their heart stunt at the Swansea Air Show to the little boy from Swansea was diagnosed with a rare and complex form of cancer in October 2021 at the age of just two. You can see the emotional tribute here.
After a relapse, his parents Natalie and Matthew were told his treatment was not working and the focus would move to palliative care. The youngster was the inspiration behind Morgan's Army Charitable Foundation which has the slogan No One Fights Alone.
The Appreciation Service for his life will be held at St Catherine's Church in Gorseinon, Swansea, on Friday, July 21, following a procession from his home.
Morgan's family say they realise it will be busy and are asking people to "respect the wishes" of his parents and to limit access to the church to close family and friends only and have asked for anyone coming to wear yellow.
While the church will be limited, they have said that all are welcome at the Swansea.com stadium "as Morgan’s Army takes over the home of his beloved Swansea City FC".
A statement on Morgan's Army Facebook page said: "We intend to celebrate Morgan for everything that he was and the impact he has had on the world. He has taught us so much about bravery and the importance of joy. He has shown us the power of love and how we can better be there for each other.
"Whilst we wish everyone who wants to remember Morgan to do so, we expect it to be busy so please respect the wishes of Morgan’s parents and allow close family and friends access to the ceremony. The church will be limited to family and friends but there will be a facility to hear the service from outside the church, and we welcome the community to pay their respects and watch the procession as our family walk Morgan on the first part of his final journey."
They added that there will be stewards at the stadium and a police presence on the day to ensure that everything runs smoothly.
The statement ended: "Hope we do you proud Morgs, we miss you so much, we are so incredibly honoured to be your parents."
