Baseball is in a bat-flipping golden era, where players are encouraged to soak up their turns in the spotlight, and Junior Caminero, Yandy Diaz and William Contreras are taking bat tossing and slow celebratory trots to new levels this October.
Caminero, the Tampa Bay Rays' budding slugger, took 38.7 seconds to saunter around the bases after an AL Championship Series home run. Famous in baseball circles for his slow, spectacular jaunts, his average trot time is still faster than those of Diaz, his Tampa teammate, and Contreras, a Milwaukee Brewers foe in a World Series that begins Friday night.
