The Proclaimers, Siouxsie, Paul Heaton and Gabrielle are to headline this summer's Mouth of the Tyne Festival which makes its return with four days of music from this Thursday.
The annual coastal festival, which attracts around 100,000 visitors, is now in its 17th year and is set to impress once again with an impressive July 6-9 line-up. Organised by North Tyneside Council, it plays out against the dramatic backdrop of Tynemouth Priory & Castle and the upcoming programme also includes a host of special guest performers, food and drink.
Headliners on the first night of the outdoor concerts will be The Proclaimers, the Scottish btothers whose long career was launched with the help of groundbreaking Newcastle music show The Tube which projected them into the spotlight. And they have stayed at the top of their game now for more than 35 years, enjoying success around the globe.

North Tyneside’s deputy mayor Carl Johnson has said The Proclaimers remain hugely popular across the generations and added of their upcoming headline set: “This promises to be a really enjoyable open-air show at such a spectacular venue with views of the river and sea.”

Festival rules
People can take along their own food and drink including moderate amounts of alcohol although there will be outlets on-site to choose from too and most of these will accept card payments. Glass and BBQs are not allowed and bag searches will be conducted.
Festival-goers have to stand - although there will be first-come, first-served spaces for accessible viewing for those with disabilities and additional needs - and while camping chairs are allowed people should be careful not to restrict others' views.
No dogs, other than guide dogs, are allowed.
Parking
Parking will be extremely limited in and around Tynemouth village (there are limited blue badge parking spaces nearby). Those travelling by car should note that Front Street will be closed. Use of public transport is recommended wherever possible: see Nexus travel information here
