Moussa Niakhate has told a Nottingham Forest fan "everyone" is aware of their situation in the wake of Sunday's defeat to Manchester United.
Steve Cooper's side are in the Premier League bottom three on goal difference, having failed to win in their last 10 matches since beating Leeds in February.
Forest are in real danger of being cut adrift with tough fixtures coming up away at Liverpool and against high-flying Brighton. They also face a trip to a Brentford team who have lost just twice at home in the league this season.

And after Forest's 2-0 loss at the City Ground against Man United, Niakhate issued a rallying cry to supporters. He tweeted: "To the fans: we know we have to do better and we will fight for every point available until the final whistle blows.
"It’s a big challenge but we are ready for it. I am completely convinced that together we will pull this off"
But his tweet left one frustrated fan unimpressed, who responded by tweeting: "It’s alright with words but where is the actions! Time is running out and now looking back we’ve dropped so many points and we paid the price almost".
And perhaps to the fan's surprise, Niakhate replied: "Agree. It’s with actions that we will take points. Trust me we know it. And EVERYONE is aware of the situation. I totally understand your frustration. we all want to relive moments of happiness as quickly as possible #staytogether #alltogether #wewilldoit".
