Here are the latest Nottingham Forest headlines on Monday, September 26, 2022.
Moussa Niakhate injury update as Forest star makes big promise
Defender Moussa Niakhate has provided a positive update on his hamstring injury with a video posted on his social media.
The defender sustained the injury in the 1-0 win over West HamUnited last month and has missed the last six games for Steve Cooper's side. However, there was slight optimism last week when he was called-up for Senegal's upcoming games against Bolivia and Iran, suggesting he could be back in action soon.
In a social media post on his Instagram account, Niakhate has dropped another huge hint that he could return to action at the City Ground sooner rather than later. In the video, the 26-year-old is seen doing stretches and exercises using an exercise band.
Celtic warned of Forest transfer regret as defender told where to improve
Celtic hero Peter Grant "can't believe" his former club didn't sign Nottingham Forest defender Scott McKenna.
McKenna joined Forest from Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen in September 2020 and was a key member of the team that won promotion to the Premier League.
He was linked with moves to Celtic at various stages of his career, and Grant has outlined the reasons why he would have been such a good signing for the Scottish giants. He also took time to give the one area of McKenna's game that needs work.

Forest warned against Steve Cooper 'madness' with Chelsea example
Former England striker and pundit Darren Bent has said it would be "madness" for Nottingham Forest to part ways with Steve Cooper.
The head coach did a remarkable job of getting Forest promoted back to the Premier League last season, but has not found life in the top flight plain sailing so far.
While suggesting it would be "bonkers" and "madness" to get rid of Cooper, Bent also recognised that owners are focused on the here and now; pointing to Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea as an example.
Forest wait on huge blow for Leicester City clash
Nottingham Forest have received a potentially fresh setback with Scott McKenna dropping out of the Scotland squad ahead of the upcoming clash with Leicester City.
McKenna has pulled out of Steve Clarke's squad alongside Kieran Tierney and Scott McTominay with the Scotland boss turning to Hearts duo Stephen Kingsley and Barrie McKay in their absence.
McKenna played the full 90 minutes in both of the recent victories for Scotland against Ukraine and Republic of Ireland, but is now a major doubt for next Monday's trip to the King Power Stadium after being sent back to the East Midlands.
