A prominent outlet in Italy has launched a withering take on the current standing of former Celtic star Moussa Dembele.
The 26-year-old is a free agent after an underwhelming final season with Lyon where he was reduced to becoming Alexandre Lacazette's deputy and mustered only three goals in 28 games. Dembele is taking his time as he seeks his next adventure with an ill-fated loan stint with Atletico in his mind as he aims to find the right fit. But an Italian publication reckons he would be the wrong choice for Roma if Tammy Abraham exits this summer.
Outlet Snai said: "Sifting through the list of free agents we find Moussa Dembele. The former Celtic and Lyon striker has just released himself from the contract with the French team after a far from exciting season. The glories of the past are long gone, when the then 23-year-old Frenchman dominated Ligue 1 with 31 goals in two seasons."
But the outlet did make the counter argument over reasons why Mourinho could invest in the former Parkhead favourite. "In Rome, however, he would only pay the agents' salary and commissions, and would bring home a fully fit centre forward at soon to be age 27, with great international experience, capable and used to playing as a lone striker and above all with 136 goals in 290 career matches."
